THE PLACE OF WOMEN IN THE PLAN OF GOD

 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on Him for saying of woman which testified, He told me all that ever I did (Jn.4:39).

The common saying about women is that, they are weaker vessels. People deal with women based on this belief. But when you read through the bible, we see women as women of faith, women of strength. Women in the bible were seen as the gateway, through which God or devil uses to enter a family.

When serpent wanted to deceive our father Adam, it went through the woman and the woman convinced her husband and both fell (Gen.3).When you read the story of Ahab and Jezebel in 1Kings 21, you will discover that it was the woman who moved her husband Ahab to do what he did by killing Naboth.The problem between Saul and David was caused by women through their singing. You may see all of these as points against women, but we also have many of their positive sides.

When Samson was to be born, it was the mother that received the message (Judges 13). When the Savior was to be born, it was through a woman (Luke 1:26-28). Throughout the period of Jesus’ ministry, it was the women that provided for him (Luke 8:1-3). We also saw the support of women for Jesus when He was on the cross; they stood by him when the men were hiding. When He also resurrected, it was the same women that saw him first.

 In John 4:39, the bible recorded a Samaritan woman went out to introduce Jesus having tasted of the precious gift of God and so brought others to Jesus through her zeal. Let us examine some of the roles of women in the bible:

AGENT OF RECONCILIATION (Acts 4:9-29):- God used the Samaritan woman to break the wall of partition between the Jews and Samaritans. The Samaritans received Jesus.

 A GATEWAY: – When we study the bible, we discovered that both God and the devil usually contend to enter through the woman, they are the gateway through which God and the devil can enter the church or family. Therefore women should guard against whatever or whoever passes through them. Just make sure that the devil does not make you his gateway.

AGENT OF BLESSING (Luke 8:1-3):- women ministered more to Jesus in his lifetime than men. God still expects women to do more for him now. Some women followed Jesus wherever he went even to the cross and even till now, they are still the driving force in the church.

AGENT OF DELIVERANCE:-  What can we say about Deborah, who took the courage to go to war even when the captain of war was afraid to lead, he pleaded that Deborah a woman should follow him to the war front, she went and conquered. So also God is still counting on women to be agents of deliverance, to deliver our land from the power of darkness and to pray earnestly for the deliverance of the Nations.

Take the statistics everywhere; it has been observed that we have more women in the Church than men. This is not to play down the headship of men but to show that our women should rise the more considering their histories of fervency and stay at their duty posts in all spheres of life. Is this a campaign for gender equality? No. It is a call for our women specially made and fashioned with WOMB to bear life to rise and stand in their work place for God.

Women must rise. The strength is in you. The power is there. Tap into God’s abundant resources. Launch out in His full strength to offer yourself unto God not being agents of moral decadence, promiscuity, corruption and so on. But believe that you have a call to nurture and safe life.
