THE PRAYER OF FAITH

 Text: Jam. 5:13-16, Mark 11;11-26

Introduction:

Tremendous power! Tremendous indeed where the miracles which His life accounted for. At a particular time Jesus shared the recipe for these powerful acts with His closest friends Mark 11;22-26, 13;37). Good news is, the same power recipe also says that the powerful acts can happen for anybody who really dares to believe! The question is “will you dare to believe this prayer of faith recipe explained here”?. Today, we depend on God Spirit to teach us the this aspect of the Jesus way in prayer. May we receive revelation in Jesus name!

 

SO WHAT ARE THE STEPS INVOLVED IN THE PRAYER OF FAITH?               

 If there wasn’t a way to pray, Jesus would have just ignored the disciples when they asked him how. The scripture hints that there are different kinds of prayer. The following are involved in praying the prayer of faith:

 

#Praying In the Spirit: This entails the Word of God, Unknown tongues and the way in which you perceive the Holy Spirit is leading you. John 6:63, Rom. 8:26, Job. 33;14

The Holy Spirit helps locate strong reason and intensions to present for you to receive your request.

The Spirit also helps to present your request with the write words.

A blocker  that hinders us from receiving the good we desire is having a wrong or inappropriate intension for a good thing. Regardless of what you present as the reason for your request, God knows the real purpose which inspires it.

So, how do you put your thoughts (imaginations & ideas) into godly confines where the Heavenly Father’s enormous power flows?

 

 #In Love: the answer to the questions is love! Why? Because faith  works by love (Gal. 5:6). Jam. 2;8, Rom. 13;8, Matt. 22;36-37.

Also, understanding that self-centered and ungodly thoughts wouldn’t cease at once all because you’re a Christian, you’re to;

Cast down those imaginations & thought by the Word of God that opposes it. Note that you shouldn’t try casting down thoughts & imagination with other one because the only thing that seniors a thought or imagination is a word (Matt.6;31). So, substitute the wrong thoughts with good thoughts (Phi. 4;8. Col. 3;1-2). Note also that nature abhors vacuum, so without a substitute wrong thoughts will sneak in again.

 

 #Addressing God (Praying): pour out your heart, utter all your words to God(this doesn’t mean complaining) and present your petition(request) to Him. Judges 11;11, Psa. 62;8, 1John 5;14-15, John 16:23. In doing this, peace begins to work in your heart and mind (Phi. 4;6-7).

 

 #Demanding: The actual Greek translation of John 14:13 reads “And whatsoever you shall require or demand in my name, that will I do…”.  John 14:13-14. Jesus in His private time prayed to the Heavenly Father and after he had the assurance that had been answered, He went out and demanded of situations and demons to obey His words. This is reflected when he got to the tomb of Lazarus (John 11;41-43). The Apostles did it the Jesus way all through the book of Acts and got great results. Acts. 3:6-9, 9;33-34, 16;16-18. The Jesus way of the prayer of Faith is asking and decreeing.

 

#Thanksgiving: Don’t follow your mind but follow your spirit which carries your faith(Prov. 3;5) by watering the seed of the words you have spoken with thanksgiving(Mark 4:26-28, Psa. 67;5-6). Thanksgiving strengthens your faith (Rom. 4;19-20). Your faith becomes more productive with the fertilizer of glorifying  God for answered prayers even when the manifestation is yet to be seen. Remember, “For We walk by faith, not sight”. IICor. 5;7.

 

 Conclusion: This is the Jesus way. It a recipe for the miraculous. Dare (or taste) and see that the Lord is good (Psa.
